More Beautiful You....Week 1

Hey guys! So I'm thinking this is only going to take 2 weeks...lol. So I've decided that Im only go to give some brief summaries and then maybe go a little in depth at the end. First of all the More Beautiful You DEVO is AMAZING! I love it.
One thing I've noticed is it focuses on the world's version of beauty vs God's vs what have we percieved it all as. Did you know that in the Bible women are mentioned as "pretty" or "beautiful" or "fair to look upon" but none of their physical features were ever actually described...the Bible only ever uses spiritual and emotional descriptions (other than the one's listed above) So physically we have no idea what the Bible's "perfect woman" looks like. The reason for this is because 1) inner beauty matters more to God and 2) because not one of those women were the same size, shape, had the same type of hair, or the same bra size....they shared virtually none of these things (I'm sure some traits were shared between 1 or 2 of them) yet they were all considered extremely beautiful. The world has a very specific definition of beauty and it is unatainable no matter how much we (no matter how much I) try.
Another thing is everyday you write down something that you absolutly hate about yourself...and then you hand it over to God (this is extremely hard!!!!!!) but if I would just really do it...it would work. Eating disorders have been a part of my life (thankfully on an extremely small scale!) and this DEVO adressess that...it covers everything.
One thing they suggest is watch 30 minutes of your favorite TV show and take notes!!! Keep track of the show's defifnition of Beauty...then when you're done compare that to the world's definition and then to God's. Think about this....how does the show affect your self-esteem and your idea of beauty. What type of ideals are putting in your head by watching this?!?!? All in all this DEVO is great and I can't wait to do more of it!

New Huckleberry Finn a Disgrace to My Face

Okay guys! So...before I get officially started I must add my disclaimer. I am not racist and I do not approve of the use of racist "slang" or derogatory terms. Okay now, If you didn't know this, there is a new issue of Huckleberry Finn coming out where they are going to remove the "N" word and the word "Injun" ...in my personal opinion the shouldn't do this. Okay there is a difference between Mark Twain using these words and if I were to go out and write a story using these words. It was an everyday part of his life and culture. I mean remiving these words from a Mark Twain book is like removing the word "wench" from Shakespear no you don't do it! Now here is where I'm going to be called a hypocrite....I hate reading books that cuss espacially books that use the "F" word or "Gd" and I think those should be removed. I know that sounds hypocritical....but those words are uneccessary they don't prove a point. Now, if you were are writing a book I don't think you should use the "N" word because it's offensive...and it's not part of our culture today or whatever you wanna say. Point being by removing these words we are destroying classic literature! Its wrong...its almost as bad as banning books, or book burning, or something equally disgraceful. This is classic Literature people....If people weren't bothered enough by it when it was written to change it then we shouldn't change it now! Also there is a difference between someone writing a book and it being sent back to them and being all change these words they are offensie, but you don't take a Classic Book and edit it because it's suddenly offensive. We have bigger issues.....hey when I read books if I find something offenseive I either A) Don't read it or B) if it's my own book I use white out, lol. Steven Crowder should adress this issue....ha-ha! So yeah.....this is just another for of making everything so sickenly politically correct. So please do yourself a favor read the orginal Huckleberry Finn....or don't read it at all, but please avoid this "revised" version....it's not revised, its destroyed.

New Years Resolution

First off HAPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway so...in exactly one year from now I will only have 2 weeks of school left!! Mid-term grad!!! Then I'll be heading of to HA of The Ozarks! Then hopefully to College Of The Ozarks..and then God willing I'll be getting married and heading to Texas where I will work for Teen Mania Ministries!!! That's what I want...but before I get to that place God has to grow me...so here is my New Year's Resolution....usually I hate these things but I feel like I should make one.
My resolution is to give myself completely over to God, to let him take me out of my comfort zone, to witness to people at school, work, and anywhere else this year takes me, to get into my bible study like I never have before, and to grow in my prayer life. To make new Godly friends and to win souls to the Lord. To quit daydreaming (or to at least cut back) and obsessing over things a people that are never going to be a part of my life, daydreaming can be good but the way I do it, it's dangerous. To make this year matter, to make a difference.
When I went to Costa Rica we had to memorize The Declaration Of A World Chaner
"Today, I will live honorably through my thoughts, actions, and speech. I choose to be full of faith; I will not only be a hearer but a doer of the word of God. I will serve before I demand, I will Love and not Hate, and I will give before I take. Today, I choose to make a difference in this world and to be a part of something bigger than myself. I choose to dedicate my life prayer and ask God for his miraculous power and courage to do the impossible. I will make Godly relationships a priority as I esteem others higher than myself. Today, I will live my life in such a way that, I WILL CHANGE THE WORLD!"
So Yeah....now its time to get out there and make things happen! :)
Love you guyz!
